Bring back the 300, at least their not Christians.

Much is made today of “hashtagging” and the power that wields to sway minds in cyberspace.  Today we have this mass tweet campaign for the 300 kidnapped girls from Nigeria. This was started in Nigeria but has gone global. This is good.  A great way for people to express themselves en masse. Is there anyone who doesn’t know about these girls now?  I’m not so sure the leaders of the world can bring the same thing off in the face of a crisis though.  For instance, the Obama administration is beating back Putin’s advances in Ukraine with nuclear tipped death tweets such as #UnitedForUkraine…I can just imagine Vlad cringing from the pain.  The whole world is seeing that farce too. This time the case for going viral was exactly what our great leader didn’t want.  The laughter is still echoing through the halls of governments around the globe.

God bless and save the girls from Nigeria who were kidnapped by Boko Haram. I think we can all agree this is one time when our military technology can serve a totally “good” purpose.  Our experts should be able to locate these young women and help restore them to their parents and families. Our prayers may keep them safe until then.  Our hearts certainly ache along with the loved ones waiting for relief from this horrible turn of events.

Evidently the entire world agrees with this sentiment.  Even Michele Obama is directly involved, tweeting #BringBackOurGilrs. This is quite different for our First Lady.  As Charles Krauthammer said in his own piece on the matter (“Sound and fury, and the tweet following kidnapping” May 19, 2014), “It’s the first time she’s expressed herself so personally about a foreign crisis. And she was nicely candid about the reason: “In these girls, Barack and I see our own daughters”.

Krauthammer’s article continued to point out how two months earlier Boko Haram raided a Christian school and brutally murdered 59 boys.  There was no hashtag campaign for these Christian boys or for any of the previous Boko Haram atrocities against Christians. I guess that since they were, after all, just Christians, no one of importance was reminded of anyone they cared about, so, oh well.

I anticipate and welcome the responses decrying my inhumane treatment of the first family…once again.  I know for certain and with great humility that since I brought this up (well, after Charles did anyway) I must most definitely be a racist.  So be it.  If the American blind left start to see the light, well then it is worth it to be scourged.

Some day the real racists will have to pay the piper.  I can only hope I wont be dead 50 years before the scourge of the present can be wiped from our country’s face.

Revolt with your vote America.  Lets start to win her back now, eh?
